Stacking the Shelves (12/04/2014)
Three books received this week! I recently read The Rule of Claw and City of Screams is a companion novel to that, so I had to have it, of course!
I'm currently on a Courtney Summers binge and I now own all of her books, except This Is Not A Test, which I read on my kindle app, so I need to buy a real copy of that.
I do already have a paperback copy of Fangirl (and I loved it) but I wanted a hardback too, because US Hardbacks are seriously nice.
There was supposed to be one more book here, Jenny Han's To All The Boys I've Loved Before, but the Royal Mail didn't deliver it and won't let me pick it up for 2 days. It's a complete shambles at the sorting office and I'm seriously annoyed because I was going to start reading that today.
Question of the week: What was your least favourite book so far this year?
(Mine was Love Letters To The Dead)
Oh, I love the way you pictured the books!
ReplyDeleteI only read This is not a Test by Summers but I want to get her other books sometime too!
(My least favorite book so far: Dear Killer)
Thank you, it took me ages! I'm surprised about Dear Killer, that's been plugged a lot lately. Mind you, so has Love Letters To the Dead...
DeleteOooh Fangirl! I'd love to get that book. Maybe next time I'm ordering books. =D
ReplyDeleteMy least favorite book so far was Angelfall by Susan Ee. I'm really not a fan of books with angels in them...
Happy Reading!
~Stephanie @ Bookfever
If you get the paperback there's a few extras, including illustrations, which is why I'm keeping mine! But hardbacks are so pretty...
DeleteOoh dear, Angelfall is on my to read pile! I don't mind Angels though, so I'm hoping I like it. It'll be my... third book with flying people in it this year.
I like the way you use the pictures of the spine to display. awesome haul. I'm sure you will get the Jenny Han book that you want at some point.

Books of Love
I will but I'll just have to be patient until Monday or Tuesday! I'll probably read Some Girls Are while I wait.
DeleteThanks for stopping by my STS! I heard FanGirl is great. Enjoy your new reads!
ReplyDeleteIt is! I have a paperback of it but I wanted a hardback too.
DeleteI just finished with Fangirl - and oh boy, I LOVED IT. :) Happy reading and have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteYey! I know a few readers didn't like it but it's great to see that the majority do, it really is a cute read.
DeleteFun books! Enjoy! :)
ReplyDeleteFall for Anything is the only Courtney Summers book I haven't read. Hope it's good, just like her other books were.
ReplyDeleteI also have a hardcover of Fangirl but I never read it. Don't know why exactly. I'm just bad at reading the books I buy. They usually sit on my shelves, unread.
Ah, that's so sad. :(
DeleteFangirl was really nice, I liked it. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteNice haul. I recently read Fangirl and didn't like it very much, but I am literally the only one it seems so I am sure you will be fine. I am dying to read To All The Boys I've Loved Before, it looks AMAZING!!! I hope you enjoy your books :) My STS.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds so amazing and I NEED it. XD
DeleteI'm on a contemporary kick right now and I've never read any of Jenny Han's books before, so I'm really looking forward to reading it... if I ever get it...
I didn't enjoy Fangirl very much, but I know a TON of other bloggers did, so I'm really interested in seeing what you think!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing and happy reading! xD
~ Zoe @ The Infinite To-Read Shelf
I've already read and reviewed my paperback copy, here's the link if you're interested?
Deletehttp://under-mountain.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/review-of-fangirl-by-rainbow-rowell.html
I've read quite a few books that really didn't work for me already this year. I think the most disappointing was one by Gillian Bradshaw -- I normally enjoy her work, but this one was a yawnfest.
ReplyDeleteI need to finish reading Fangirl soon! I like it, but ugh, I'm reading too much at once.
Oh dear, maybe slow down a bit? D:
DeleteI've seen a lot of Fangirl lately, but I haven't read it yet. The only book of Courtney Summers' I've read is This is not a Test. But I wasn't too impressed. Glad to see you like her books. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my haul.
I guess Courtney isn't for everyone! I loved This Is Not A Test, it's what caused me to want to read all her other books.
DeleteYAY for Fangirl - I keep seeing it at Asda for £3.50 and I still haven't bought my own copy of it... Maybe next time. :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by at my blog earlier and happy reading!
Ooh, you may want to grab one soon - my Asda is no longer selling Fangirl!
DeleteI'm glad to see you loved Fangirl, I haven't read it yet though I have read Eleanor and Park. I hope you enjoy your books. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm the opposite - haven't read Eleanor and Park yet! It's on my list, I just know I'm going to love it. And probably sob hysterically.
DeleteOh, Fangirl! I enjoyed reading that book. I love Rainbow Rowell. Check out Attachments, too!
ReplyDeleteI don't think Attachments is quite to my taste but I have Eleanor and Park to read and I'm REALLY looking forward to that one!
DeleteI cannot wait to read To All the Boys I've Loved Before. That book is in my tippy-top books I dying to get my hands on. I hope you get your copy soon. I really liked Fangirls, but don't have a copy yet. I actually prefer paperbacks so will snag a copy when it comes out in PB in the US. Lol. Great haul and happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping my copy arrives tomorrow so I can sit and read it all day! I've never read a Jenny Han book before so it seems like a great way to start.
DeleteFangirl! Very nice! I loved that book. And I need to read a book by Courtney - I have This Is Not A Test, but have not read it yet.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog! Hope you have an amazing weekend!
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
I've now read all but one of Courtney's book and I can confirm that This Is Not A Test is THE BEST. It's also the first one of hers I read!
DeleteFangirl! I'm looking forward to that one. Enjoy your new books! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's really good, one of my favourites this year!
DeleteI had to buy a proper copy of Fangirl too, because I only had it as an ebook originally. Enjoy your books and thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteNice haul, there's nothing like the smell of a new hardback :) I'm probably one of only a small few, but I couldn't get into Fangirl. The Fanfic dialogue made me skim half the book :(
ReplyDeleteI think my least favourite this year was Anything to Have You by Paige Harbison. It was horrible, needing therapy kind of horrible.
Enjoy your new reads! :)
I really enjoyed the fanfic but I can see why it's not for everyone! I read one of Paige Harbison's books a while ago and really enjoyed it, sad to hear this one isn't as good. :/
DeleteThis is not a test has been on and off my wishlist for a year now as I can never quite decide whether to read it or not! I think I'll look at the blurb again and make a decision...happy reading and thanks for visiting me!
ReplyDeleteREAD IT. SERIOUSLY.
DeleteNope, I have too many "least favourite reads" (gah, how awful am I??!). The Last Thirteen series bugged me the most, I think. I felt my intelligence slipping after that. >_< I loved Fangirl!!
ReplyDeleteOh dear! I'm enjoying books more this year but no matter how many times someone gushes about Love Letters To The Dead, it's both weird and downright rude in places. My review should be coming up in a week or so where I basically rant about how rude the main character was to the celebrities.
DeleteOoh, Fangirl! I'm loved that one so much and am so glad you enjoyed it too! As for my least favorite reads so far this year, it's probably The Lost Prince by Julie Kagawa. I loved her Iron Fey series but this spin-off was so boring and the protagonist annoying. :(
ReplyDeleteAnyway, thanks for stopping by my STS earlier on, have a great week ahead!
I've never read that series! I've only read The Immortal Rules of her books but I really enjoyed it.
DeleteI love Fangirl! I read it on my iPad and then promptly purchased a hardcover copy, too. I prefer to read ebooks, but I just love hard copy books so much I have to have my favorites on my shelves. :)
ReplyDeleteLeast favorite book of the year? That's a toss-up. Of the ones I've finished, I have to say The Best Kind of Broken by Courtney B. Jones. I forced myself to finish it, hoping it would get better. It didn't. It was so bad it actually pissed me off. One of my biggest disappointments this year was Side Effects May Vary. I'd looked so forward to that one and I hated the protagonist.
I've been avoiding Side Effects May Vary because I thought that I might not like the protagonist, funnily enough!
DeleteOh, I love what you did to the books! How creative :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Fangirl. It comes highly recommended but I wasn't the biggest fan of her other book, so... I'm a little hesitant.
My least favorite book? Hmm.. Forbidden and Waiting on the Sidelines.
I've had Fangirl on my shelf for a few months now, I can't wait to read it! I hope you enjoy all of your books & thanks for stopping by my post! Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteI have Fangirl, but I haven't read it yet.
ReplyDeleteI really love your design and graphics! New follower in Bloglovin'. Thanks for stopping by :)
To All the Boys I've Loved Before sounds so good! Can't wait to get it myself. Hope you receive it soon and enjoy your books! Thanks for stopping by :)
ReplyDeleteI have heard such awesome things about Fangirl…very interested in that one since I enjoyed E&P so much. (My least favorite book would have to be The Lonesome Young by Lucy Connors- it was just ok for me.) Enjoy all your books!
ReplyDeleteI need Fangirl, and I definitely need To All the Boys I've Loved Before! I hope you can get it soon, and enjoy them all!
ReplyDeleteI love your haul! And I know absolutely what you mean about the Hardback copies haha. Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteLeast fave book this year: The Queen's Choice by Cayla Kluver
Oh I have heard so many people saying how amazing Fangirl is! I think I might have to check it out and see what all the fuss is about :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what my least favourite book would be so far, maybe Deep Surrendering - it's not that it was bad, but it was just a huge step away from the author's previous work which I had actually enjoyed.
I love how you can put the books on the side like that. Pretty cool. Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy Fangirl and all your new books!
ReplyDeleteMary
I still want to read Fangirl, I've heard amazing things about it! :)
ReplyDeleteNice haul. I just recently read Fangirl and loved it. I hope you enjoy your reads!!
ReplyDeleteI think the book that I've enjoyed least this year has been The Best Kind of Trouble by Courtney B. Jones.
Here is my STS
Have a great week :)
I loved Fangirl. Since your other book didn't arrive, I would start reading Fangirl instead.
ReplyDeleteGreat haul!! Thanks for stopping by my STS :)
If you'd read my post... you'd see that I already have and don't want to re-read it barely a fortnight after I've read it...
DeleteLove the title on City of Screams!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my mailbox
Ooh Fangirl :-) I agree it's nice to have a beautiful hardcover.
ReplyDeleteI really want to read Fangirl, too! It seems like a story I would really enjoy.
ReplyDeleteLove Letters to the Dead is one of my favorites for 2014 so far, too, and I also really loved One Man Guy!
Happy reading :)
