Stacking The Shelves (12/07/2014)

Everything is a little up in the air this week. After getting back from London, we've been told by the council  (who own our house) that they plan to rewire our entire house for the electric. This will take them a day, however they want all our stuff out of the house and in storage, except for a few pieces of furniture. We only have a couple of weeks to pack everything and we won't even get the stuff back from storage until about a month after they've finished! I am not a happy blogger and seriously worried about my books.

Bought This Week

This week's grand idea was to buy less books than I read the week before, to get my books down.
I failed.
I've already read Pantomime and The One at least.

Read This Week (Sat 5th - Fri 11th)

I finally got myself a UK copy of The One (my set matches, even in size!), so I decided I would binge read the whole series. The Selection was just as good as I remembered but I was a little disappointed with the ending of the series.

That's all from me this week!

  1. I really want to read The Bone Season, I've heard great things about it and it sounds really interesting. I enjoyed The Selection books although I felt like the ending could have been more profound, you know? I hope you enjoy all of your new books!

    1. I'm hoping it's as good as everyone says it is, as it's quite a big book! I agree about the Selection. I was hoping Maxon would choose in the second book and the third would have been about him ruling as King, which I really wanted to read. Still crossing my fingers for a fourth book!

  2. Oh what a shame about having to move all your stuff out. The Bone Season! Im a big fan of that book :-) I need to read Pantomine. Enjoy your new additions

    1. It's going to be very odd! There's three of us in the house and we all like to collect (hoard) things so the house is going to feel very empty. I think we'll enjoy all the space so much we won't want our stuff back! I'm keeping my books with me at least.

  3. Oh no, good luck with packing all your stuff :( I liked The Bone Season, although there are some information-dumps. Happy reading!

    1. I was really surprised because I spotted my copy for £1! I hope The Mime Order matches if I like this one.

    1. Yes, you do! I was super slow with this series. I read The Selection in 2012 and it's sequels this week. I need to start finishing more series this year.

  6. I really liked the first book of The Selection series. I pretty much detested the second and while I was happy with the ending to The One, I wasn't thrilled with the path it took to get there. It was a good series as long as I didn't think about it too much. :)

    Happy reading!

    1. I didn't think the second was too bad, it was just sort of filler, really.

  7. I don't know what I'd do without my stuff for a month or more! Hope your books are okay while in storage! I haven't read any of these, but love the matching covers with the beautiful gowns! Happy reading!

    1. Thankfully, I won't have to put them in storage, as I was worried about! I'm going to duct tape a large decorating sheet over my bookcase and hope for the best. As long as my books and internet are near me, I think I'll survive. XD

  8. I want to finish The Selection series! I'm just...waiting for my TBR to settle down? Haha. I just need more tiiiime to read everything! *plots to clone herself* Oh, but that sucks about putting all your stuff in storage. :(

    1. But if you cloned yourself your other self would have to tell you what happens, no? And then you wouldn't get the experience of reading the book... *thought too much about this*

    1. We even have to take down our curtains! Madness. At least I'll have room for my new bookshelves when I can buy them.

  12. Nice haul. I've started to go to more to the bargain, used bookstores, to buy my books. You got a very nice haul indeed.

    1. I'm the same! I got all of these cheaper than the RRP by searching charity shops. Pantomime and Shadowplay were from BookDepository, The One and Dance of the Red Death were from ReadItSwapIt, where I swapped books with another user so only paid postage. Found the others in charity shops! It's fun because I never know what my next find will be.

  13. Awesome haul! I've been hoping to read the rest of The Selection series for a while since I read the first book two years ago and I absolutely loved it. I've heard great things about The Bone Season!

VIII seems really interesting. There are a lot of adult historical fiction books about the tudors but no so much YA books. Stupid that you cannot access your belongs for an entire month, especially if the work only takes a day.. Happy reading!
