Un-Stacking The Shelves (5)

Please read!
Un-Stacking The Shelves is my version of Stacking the Shelves, which is hosted by Tynga's Reviews. It's dedicated to removing the books from my shelves, not adding to them and so the books mentioned below are the ones I read this week. Hopefully I'll get some of my book hoard read this way!

I read no books this week.

But never mind, because I finally remembered to pick up my signed copy of Lauren Owen's The Quick!

You are about to discover the secrets of The Quick -
But first, reader, you must travel to Victorian England, and there, in the wilds of Yorkshire, meet a brother and sister alone in the world, a pair bound by tragedy. You will, in time, enter the rooms of London's mysterious Aegolius Club - a society of the richest, most powerful men in England. And at some point - we cannot say when - these worlds will collide.
It is then, and only then, that a new world emerges, a world of romance, adventure and the most delicious of horrors - and the secrets of The Quick are revealed.

Gothic, creepy and most importantly, has owls on it.

Look! A tiny owl on the cover!
I want this as wallpaper so much! If you click on it you'll be able to make out all the owls better.
I guess that's all from me this week! I'm going to try and get a lot more books read for next week, I'm starting to miss reading.

  1. The Quick is beautifully presented isn't it? I like the owl and the design work. Hope you have some time for reading this week!

  3. This week sucked for reading for me too. o.O I think I read 1 book? Or maybe 2...I can't even remember which I find just as bad. But that is a beauuuutiful cover! I thought it was by Lauren Oliver for a minute and I was going to be very surprised at how many books she's written. ;)

  4. That book is absolutely gorgeous - I really need to check it out from Goodreads since I have not heard about it before.
Happy reading and have a good weekend! :)

  8. The book looks so pretty. I would buy it just because of that! I hope you also enjoy the story! Thanks for stopping by Tynga's Reviews.

  9. The Quick sounds quite interesting and I love the look of it. Thanks for sharing! I did my first read-a-thon this week so I read four books. Totally not normal for me, so it was fun.

  10. The Quick sounds so good, and that cover is gorgeous! Thanks for stopping by.

  11. Oooh I hadn't heard of this one until now, but it sounds right up my alley. Thanks for sharing, I've added it to my endless TBR list. Thanks for stopping by my post, followed back via BL & GFC. :) Happy reading!

  12. Oh my gosh that book is super-fantastic! And it's gothic! So jealous :)

    Happy Sunday!

  13. Thanks for stopping by! Good luck on finishing that huge book :)

  14. Ohhh, the cover is so pretty (and without the jacket!) If it makes you feel any better, it's taken me almost a week just to read Dorothy Must Die...though, I did start and finish We Were Liars yesterday with the twitter read-a-long. Sorry. ;)

    Here's mine

  15. I can't believe I haven't heard of this before - it sounds ah-mazing! So thanks, you've now added another book to my epic TBR list ;)

  16. Just think! One book is better than no book :) And that cover! I agree with you for it looking great as a wallpaper, especially with it blown up in a room, it will look stunning! Happy Reading :)
