Many Covers Monday - Turtles All The Way Down by John Green

Today we're looking at the many different covers of Turtles All The Way Down by John Green and choosing a winner! These may not be the complete collection of covers, just as many as I can find or the most interesting from around the world.

Sixteen-year-old Aza never intended to pursue the mystery of fugitive billionaire Russell Pickett, but there’s a hundred-thousand-dollar reward at stake and her Best and Most Fearless Friend, Daisy, is eager to investigate. So together, they navigate the short distance and broad divides that separate them from Russell Pickett’s son, Davis.

Aza is trying. She is trying to be a good daughter, a good friend, a good student, and maybe even a good detective, while also living within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.

In his long-awaited return, John Green, the acclaimed, award-winning author of Looking for Alaska and The Fault in Our Stars, shares Aza’s story with shattering, unflinching clarity in this brilliant novel of love, resilience, and the power of lifelong friendship.

 US/German
Prepare yourselves to see a lot of spirals and turtles because apparently every publisher felt that because it's John Green, very little effort needed to make for the cover. The US cover is nice at first glance but it's a pale peach cover with a basic orange spiral and a brush font. It is eye catching though and you will know from a distance exactly what book it is. The German is okay, I like that they used the chalk-like font for the author name that I'm used to seeing. The weird placement of the turtles is throwing me off though.

Hungarian/Persian
Weird font aside, I actually really like the Hungarian cover. More spiral and more turtles but that colour is gorgeous. The Persian cover is just eh. I thought the dark shadow was badly draw hair until I saw that it was a person.

Polish/Portuguese
I really love the colour used for the author name at the top of the Polish cover. The Portuguese... it looks like some stock vector art just shoved at the bottom of the cover. None of the fonts work together and I just hate it.

Serbian/Swedish
Oh look a spiral of turtles. Also, this is not a turtle. That's an iguana. I presume this story is about a bunch of teenagers who get rich then have a poolside beach party with one of those money guns and buy a pet iguana?

Winner

All the covers were really really ugly so I'm going to go ahead and give the winning spot to this fan art cover by Risa Rodil because I DO WHAT I WANT.
