Weekly Update (03/03/2018)

Books Read This Week

Whoops I accidentally read 6 books? Honestly it's been an incredible week for reading with not a single one of these books given a rating 3 or less, and two of them got 5 stars! I'm hoping I can repeat that next week. If you've been considering reading Paperfury's (or Cait's) book A Thousand Perfect Notes, just go order it or ask for an ARC because it is absolutely beautiful.

SNOW!!!???

The UK panicked bought milk this week as news of snow hit and when it did it was GLORIOUS. Look at my small human's tiny face, this is first experience of snow.

Unfortunately that was when the snow had just started and that night we got a good two foot of snow which is still quite high outside. Luckily I have a good neighbourhood and people are helping out with lifts to work and shovels.

Many Covers Monday

Next week I'll be showing off the many covers of Turtles All The Way Down by John Green, so stop by for that if you're interested!

YOU READ CAIT'S BOOK? Let me weep here silently in a corner because I haven't got a copy yet. YES I did pre-order AND mailed the publisher for an eARC AND YET. Nothing. I need it in my life because Cait rules all and I've beta-read for her and she's just so talented it should be illegal honestly.

    1. I got a copy from NetGalley! I was so happy when I did but I did feel a bit pressured because IT'S CAIT. I was worried that I'd be eaten alive if I hated it but it truly is absolutely incredible, it's likely to be one of my favourite reads this year.

    1. It's pretty bad to be honest! I'm mostly worried about my Gran, as she lived pretty far away from us. We're phoning regularly and she managed to get food in at least.

  5. I love snow! I am from Minnesota though, so that is kind of a given for me. I love seeing little ones experiencing snow for the first time, their faces are so beautiful. The first time my babe saw snow and played in it is such a great memory. Happy Reading!

    1. It was AMAZING. If I talked about it it would probably just be a lot of overexcited gifs of cats playing the piano to be honest.

  7. Two feet of snow - that's a lot! Some good looking books this week and I can't wait to read The Hazel Wood.

    1. The Hazel Wood is seriously good but the ending is a little rushed, just to warn you. I expect great things from the author in the future though!

  11. Adorable! First snow and I am so sick of it! I am riding out the storm that took out our power at a friends. So surreal looking at all the downed trees and power lines cut in half. They say we won't have power to our area till Wednesday!! Have a good Sunday!

    1. Oh that's awful! We've been so lucky, our power has been fine and even the TV is working. We're in a rural area so I was mentally preparing for a blackout. I hope Wednesday comes quickly for you.

  14. 6 books! I also read 6 books one of these February weeks! And I also felt like "what just happened" xD

Oh, that's great that you loved Cait's book :) it's been receiving a lot of praise, I hear.

  15. Your neighborhood sounds awesome!! I've talked recently to some folks who used to live where it snowed like that for the entire season, and I literally would not be able to live there and handle that day after day.

  16. The look on your daughter's face makes me almost like snow. In the US, we stock up on milk, bread, and eggs when we hear a storm is coming. Good to see snow hysteria drives people in other countries to do the same thing. I would have cried if the snow had stuck the other day. As it was, it was snowing sideways because the wind was so severe. Glad your neighbors were so neighborly and helped with the snow.

  17. I love that photo of your daughter. :-) My daughter would love it if we got snow here, but the likelihood of that is next to nonexistent. I am glad you enjoyed your reading this week! I am anxious to read The Hazel Wood. I've been hearing mixed reviews of it, and it is making me nervous. I hope you have a great week!

  18. 6 books this week?!?! I'm so jealous! That's fantastic! I think its a good week if I can finish 3!! LOL. Awww! That picture is adorable. I remember the first time I showed my daughter snow. We had to go up the mountain to see it since it never snows where we are. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Have a great week! :)
