Weekly Update (07/04/2018)
I missed doing these for a couple of weeks because my life has suddenly gotten EXTREMELY BUSY and I've hardly even had enough time to read so here's a huge catch up:
Books Read Since Last Update
PITIFUL quite frankly but I'm letting myself off because Illuminae and Gemina are 500+ pages each.
I BOUGHT A BIKE
It's a British Eagle Hydra (if you're into bikes) and it's cheap but I love it. It's a hybrid bike, so built for the city and the roads - I live in Somerset so I need a bike that can do everything! I've already bought a new seat though, the seat that came with it is so, so painful to sit on.
The big news is that my partner just got a new job but he's working really random hours, sometimes it'll be 9-5 other days later or earlier, so he's getting up at 5am then other days he's coming home at 10pm. It's really throwing his sleep patterns off. I'm trying to keep the house in some sort of order and look after a small human too, hence why I've been so busy!
It's tough when a work schedule gets everything out of whack!! And I had just a signed set of The Illuminae Files-I got all 3!! I have that on my post!! Nice bike! I hope you have many good rides!!

I'm so jealous! I rated the first two books 5/5 and Obsidio may end up being 4 or 5 too. I really love these books.
DeleteHave fun with your new bike!! And I hope you'll have more time to read next week ;)
ReplyDeleteMy STS post
Thank you!
DeleteIlluminae and Gemina ARE big books so definitely give yourself credit for those! I just read Obsidio myself and thought it ended the series well. :)
ReplyDeleteYay for the bike! and good luck with the new schedule, that can be tough- hope you have good week!
Loved the first two and Obsidio is really good but I am having 1 or 2 problems with it, so it may end up a 4. I really wanted to have a full 5 star series!
DeleteWow, it sounds like you’ve been busy. It’s been a long time since I rode my bike. I just walk everywhere. Congrats to your partner on the new job!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
We're walkers too but the county we live is is really rural and it's an hour's walk to town, so we've been wanting to get bikes for a while! I can't wait to explore though and hopefully I can start posting pictures of where I go on my weekly updates.
DeleteCongrats on the bike :) looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteAh no, crazy shift patterns suck! Hopefully things settle down for him and you all get in a rhythm.
ReplyDeleteI have wacky shifts like that, I once had a job like that myself but it just didn't work out. Hopefully you will find a happy medium. Great on the bike purchase! I hope you enjoy. Have a great week.
